Amplify your impact on the lives of Brown School students
The Brown School is the first social work school to offer support for both tuition and living expenses to all students completing practicum education. This comprehensive approach means that MSW students will not incur additional debt because of their field education requirements. Now the school is raising additional endowed funds to sustain this critical commitment to our students, the field of social work, and ultimately society at large.
To that end, Roma Wittcoff, BSBA ’45, established a $1 million Accelerator Challenge to amplify donor impact and help establish new named, endowed practicum scholarships for field education at the Brown School.
Power of endowment
An endowed practicum scholarship for field education is a priceless way to support hardworking, ambitious students pursuing a master of social work degree – and the communities and organizations they go on to serve. These scholarships are essential to the Brown School’s ability to provide critical field education to the very best students, regardless of their financial resources, which often determines their ability to attend.
When your Brown School practicum scholarship is fully endowed, your gift is invested in WashU’s world-class endowment, with an annual investment payout to support practicum scholarship recipients. As the corpus of your scholarship fund grows over time, so will the payout, empowering your fund to support more students. Endowed scholarships for field education are permanent resources that last for as long as WashU and the Brown School endure.
How the challenge works
The Wittcoff Accelerator Challenge will provide funds to help your gift of $50,000 or more reach the minimum threshold of $250,000 to establish a new named endowed scholarship for field education at the Brown School. Those matching funds will go directly into your scholarship endowment. Take advantage of this extraordinary giving challenge before the funds run out!
